Our client in Chantilly is looking for a self-starting, team-oriented DevOps Software Engineer to join our dynamic development team supporting a range of corporate, research and development, and Government projects delivering value aligned with strategic corporate investments and critical national mission success.  The team supports next-generation technology development using cloud-based and hybrid DevOps platforms performing modeling and simulation, machine learning, big data analytics, and other data science applications.  The successful candidate will have the ability to work both independently with little supervision as well as in a team environment.
The DevOps Software Engineer works on a DevOps team that supports a number of research and development projects, from small scale prototyping to enterprise applications.  The development teams use agile methodologies with continuous integration pipelines and configuration management through infrastructure as code.  The DevOps Software Engineer will use a hybrid cloud infrastructure based on Amazon Web Services (AWS) with both Linux and Windows environments to build projects.  Software projects are primarily developed in Java with additional applications in Python, C++, R, and current state of the art big data and machine learning libraries.  The DevOps Software Engineer also supports Assessment and Authorization (A&A) of the environment by applying Risk Management Framework (RMF) and ICD 503 practices.

  • Education – B.S. Degree in a computer-related or data science discipline or equivalent combination of education and programming experience
  • Experience – 7 years of related experience with B.S. Degree; 5 years with M.S. Degree
  • Experience with AWS and Linux is required; additional Python, C++, R, and Puppet experience is preferred
  • Active TS/SCI clearance
  • IAT Level 2 certification or ability to certify within two months
Desired Skills
  • AWS Certification
  • Agile development team member
  • Current state of the art machine learning and data science certificates
  • Continuous Integration experience, such as Jenkins and Git, with ability to use DevOps infrastructure
  • Experience with ICD503 or RMF
  • IAT Level 3 certification
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
