Field Service Engineer

This position is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with experience servicing semiconductor manufacturing equipment to join a global company's local team. The individual hired will provide technical support of products to key semiconductor OEM and End User customers.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following.
  • Provide technical expertise and support for client's products pre- and postsale/installation.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, swap-out (as appropriate) systems and components accordance with service/repair model with each key account/end user on the East Coast of the US.
  • Identify and communicate critical customer issues, required actions and ensures professional communication back to key customers.
  • Focus on maintaining world class technical support to large, key accounts in region.
  • Serve as liaison between customer and inter-company Business, Engineering, Product Management, Production (Japan/Philippines) Departments.
  • Answers customer questions and requests and provides supporting drawings, information, and other technical support information, etc. as required. 
  • Prepare field technical/trouble reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and communicate to appropriate global team members.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge via internal Company training; by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Domestic and some international travel required.
Education and Work Experience:
  • BS/BA degree, preferably in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years of related field service or technical support experience required.
  • Knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing equipment preferred.
